Bob Laylo of The Morning Call noted the Sunrise Diner in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania is looking for a buyer. Currently Steve Harwin of Diversified Diners has the diner and is working on its restoration.

Kevin Keenan of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette mentioned Sean Donohoe as being interested in purchasing the shuttered Edgemere Diner. That transaction never took place. It would take about another year for the diner to find a buyer.

Inside Business wrote about Steve Presser's project of opening two joined diners. Both diners closed about 15 months after opening. A change in ownership and the diners were again open, this time for a little over 2 years. Last information we have in the database is the diners reopened about a year ago. Does anyone have an update?

Sarah Smith Hamaker wrote of the changing nature of diners through the years in her article for the National Restaurant Association. We've included a quote from her article, "Diners still serve up homestyle food with a side of nostalgia to customers who hunger for simple pleasures."

Debra Phillips of Entrepreneur Magazine mentioned the combination of diners and movie tickets. Coincidentally this fits in with our post about the Mayberry Drive-in and Diner's recent opening.

The Smithsonian's article entitled, "The American diner is in decline, yet more chic than ever" spoke of the humble diner's transformation throughout the years.
