The article gives us insight into what Guy looks for in choosing a restaurant to feature.

In April of 2007 a film crew for the Food Network's show, "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" were in Gardiner, Maine at the A1 diner. It appeared in a segment for episode DV0106, "Local Legends." The A1 is a diner featured in Guy's book. flickr pro Webster's picture to the left has an interesting angle, as it captures many of the essential elements found inside a manufactured diner. The A1 diner was built by the Worcester Lunch Car Company in 1946. Our last visit to the A1 was during our late August 2008 diner trip.

Another diner mentioned in the Wall Street Journal article is Brint's. According to Kansas State Historical Society, Brint's is a Valentine Double Deluxe model diner.
