Former Red Wing Diner - Walpole, MA
Daily News Transcript reported the Red Wing restaurant is under new ownership.
In looking at the exterior, you might not know there's a 1930's Worcester Lunch Car Company diner in there. In fact it's been quite some time since it was used as a diner. The picture at left shows it's almost completely encased on the right side of the restaurant. Looking closely near the roof line is the diner's original arched solid orange stained glass in the windows. Other 1930's Worcester Lunch Car Company diners in Massachusetts such as Arthur's Paradise, Boulevard and Kathy's also have the orange stained glass. Though Arthur's and Boulevard have a slightly different style.
During our last visit, we noticed the former diner functions as the bar for the restaurant, retaining its counter, stools, and tile floor.
