Over the years, today was a busy day for diner news. We've posted some of the news summaries in this column.

Peter Mandel a Boston Globe reporter, wrote about the Modern Diner, a vintage Sterling diner in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Peter Mandel wrote another article for the Boston Globe. His article talked about his visit to the Silver Top Diner in Providence, Rhode Island.

The diner was moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 2002 and hasn't reopened.

Charles Osgood, for his television program, "CBS News Sunday Morning" talks about his visit to Tommy's Deluxe Diner, in Middletown, Rhode Island.

Tommy's closed in 2006. About two years later it reopened as the Road Island Diner in Oakley, Utah.
