Weekend Roundup

The Weekend Roundup feature draws from some of the postings we made during this past week. It's purpose is a quick summary and one area of the blog where we don't include map links. We include other items here not making the blog that may be of interest to our readers. We'd like to hear your comments or suggestions.

All were mentioned in this online article. The two marked (*) were added provisionally pending further investigation. If you have any information on these diners please write us. We would like to know more about them.

Sold:

Pumpjack diner, Ninth and Broad, Wichita Falls, TX. The new owner is Mike Shallenberger. The Pumpjack is actually two separate diners joined together. Take a look at Steve Harwin's web page showing the restoration of the former Brandywine diner, a 1954 Mountain View. Read about the sale here.

There were no reports of any diners opening, being demolished, constructed, installed, or moved. Please let us know if we've missed something diner related that happened this past week.
