On this date in 1893, Worcester, Massachusetts resident, Thomas H. Buckley received patent number 489893 for a "Lunch-Wagon." Though it should be noted that one-half was assigned to Ephraim Hamel, of Lynn, Massachusetts. Below is a quote from that patent document.
"The front and rear ends walls A2, and A3, are provided with stained glass windows a9, fitted to swing inwardly, and the lights of the doors a2, are also stained glass, and consequently with such construction lettering can be, and is ground thereon, to indicate and announce the character of the wagon and some of the general articles of food constituting the bill of fare, and which can be readily read from outside both day and night. . ."
On this date in 1900, Worcester, Massachusetts resident Thomas H. Buckley was issued design patent number 33515, titled "Design for a Lunch-Wagon Body."

On this date in 1900, Worcester, Massachusetts resident Thomas H. Buckley was issued patent number 658425, titled "Window-Stool for Lunch-Wagons." Here is a quote from the patent.
"The object of my invention is to make a window-stool which will absolutely prevent the entrance of rain or water under the window-sash and between the sheathing of the wagon on the exterior and the interior thereof and also prevent any bulging or checking of the sheathing or paneling and also strengthen the frame of the wagon."

On this date in 1893, Worcester, Massachusetts resident Charles H. Palmer was issued patent number 489893, titled "Night-Wagon." Here is a quote from the patent.
"By having the series of windows a' extend around the top of the wagon, the interior of the latter is well lighted when the wagon is located near an electric light, while at the same time the various colored lights make the lunch wagon an attractive object to persons on the street and in the vicinity of the wagon. . ."
