Kullman Industries files for bankruptcy. Assets of the company were later purchased by Kullman Buildings Corp.


2003
Miss Mendon SignFormer Miss Newport Diner of Newport, VT moved to storage in Salisbury, MA. This picture from September 2009 finds the diner in Mendon, MA. We'll write about its opening as the Miss Mendon when more information becomes available.


2001
Former China Buddha of Wayne, PA moved to Buffalo, NY. It later reopened as the Lake Effect Diner.

The diner left New York in August 2007 and opened in LaBarge, Wyoming about a month ago as the LaBarge Moondance Diner.

NorthJersey.com wrote that several New Jersey diners were to be featured in an episode of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives."

WNYT-TV reported about the closure of the Speedway Family Diner, in West Lebanon, NY due to fire.

1/28/2004
In the Portland Press Herald, Josie Huang wrote of the efforts Randall Chasse was pursuing to find the Miss Portland Diner a buyer.

1/28/2004

Dan Gigler wrote of the passing of LaVerne Yorkgitis, owner of LaVerne's Diner in his Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article. His article touched on the history of the diner. While the diner was open, its future was uncertain.

About two and a half years later, another Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writer, Marlene Parrish, wrote that the diner was sold to a local businessman a few months after LaVerne's passing. The photo to the right shows the interior, when the picture was taken on February 17, 2008.

Jenna Russell, writing for the Boston Globe noted Ted's Diner in Milford, Massachusetts would have to move. Plans for the site was a new fire station.

Ted's did move, however it was eventually demolished in 2002.
