On this date in 1939, the Streamliner diner was delivered to Hanover, New Hampshire. This streamline style diner from the Worcester Lunch Car Company would have the diner tag #751. According to Agilitynut's page about the diner, it was in Newport, New Hampshire for approximately thirty-three years. flickr pro Agilitynut has a picture of the diner in her photostream. Larry Cultrera commented the diner was known as the Pretty Good Diner when in Newport.

In 1990 the Savannah College of Art and Design restored the diner and returned it to service. It's located at 120 W. Henry Street, in Savannah, Georgia.

Approximately 1,177 miles away, the A1 Diner in Gardiner, Maine just might be the Northern most placement of a similar style Worcester Diner. We visited the A-1 during our diner trip on August 23rd, 2008.

We referenced the Dinermania website in preparing this post. The website includes delivery dates along with other information from the drawing plans of Worcester Diners.
