Today In Diner History. . .

On this date in 1929, New Canaan, Connecticut resident Joseph W. Schieffer was issued patent number 1728881, titled "Store Front." Here is a quote from the patent.
"A further object of the invention is to provide a store front that is formed in a manner so that it will simulate a lunch wagon or like device."
