Today In Diner History. . .

On this date in 1893, Worcester, Massachusetts resident Thomas H. Buckley was issued design patent number D22743, titled "Design for a Lunch-Wagon Body." Here is a quote from the patent.
"In my design for a lunch wagon body, a row of windows extends entirely around the wagon body at the top portion thereof, just below the roof, except where there is a door in each side of the wagon body."
